An exciting, new Indian dining experience has landed in the heart of Mayfair, and the restaurant behind it has big ambitions for the future.*MATSYA* in Mayfair has already carved itself a reputation as a culinary trailblazer that is scooping up industry awards along the way. Serving mouth-watering, pan-Indian food, *MATSYA* takes its guests on a gastronomic journey through the foothills of the Himalayas to the peak of progressive Indian cuisine.
*Members of the press are invited to pick up their MATSYA FOOD MAP from the restaurant and begin their astronomic journey through India, one tantalising dish at a time.*
For too long Indian restaurants have attempted to cook cuisine that fits a certain culinary stereotype. *MATSYA* dismantles that stereotype by creating dishes that invite its guests to 'travel as they dine'. Each dish is a stepping-stone along one's journey, introducing guests to food from locations in India that have been, until now, underrepresented. Eventually, the guest is given the confidence to experiment with dishes that they may never have encountered before, as they 'travel' from one destination to another, discovering and rediscovering long-neglected areas of the Indian culinary map. This isn't just fine-dining...it's 'find-dining', where individuals are encouraged to find new, unchartered areas of the taste map as they experiment and explore.
As restaurant founders Vikkas and Michelle put it recently in an interview: "We wanted to take the guests on a journey. But like all good journeys we wanted to have an element of the familiar merged with the less familiar. We wanted to create Indian food that would lend itself to experimentation, but that would also cater to those of us who were a little less adventurous at first. We wanted to give confidence to the diner; and to redefine the very idea of what Indian cuisine meant. For us, good food is about making the familiar, unfamiliar; and the unfamiliar, familiar. Adventure begins with a few steps, and each visit to *MATSYA* represents steps of a longer journey - an exciting journey that begins in Mayfair."
With a multi-dimensional space that includes a wine-cellar, a private dining room, a top-floor eating area, as well as the ground floor restaurant and bar, *MATSYA *can cater to a variety of events, functions and occasions all within its tasteful and luxurious interior.
Fine food, exotic cocktails, rare wines and impeccably trained staff will all guarantee that *MATSYA* is your destination of choice when deciding on an Indian restaurant to frequent.
Mayfair is a location synonymous with luxury. *MATSYA* continues that tradition by creating a truly luxurious dining experience that will be remembered long after the meal has ended. In an industry that is highly
competitive, *MATSYA *has found a distinctive voice (and taste!) that is difficult to ignore.
A journey of a thousand steps begins with a single dish...at *MATSYA.*

We celebrated our Valentine's day here at Matsya Dining, it was one of our best choices ever! The food is delicious and accurately presented, the staff is attentive and very welcoming, and the place is warm and elegantly designed. Best Indian Food experience in London.
It's always a pleasure to see an addition to London's vibrant Indian cuisine scenario, especially one which goes beyond traditional cooking. I am confident it will succeed well here.
So wonderful to be at this lovely new Indian restaurant eating authentic Indian food on my favourite street in London.
